The courgette plants I planted out in June are producing a steady flow of courgettes now. At a nice gentle pace thank goodness, so no major gluts. 'Romanesco' is a new addition to the courgette bed this year. The contrast of the pale ribs and dark skin looks stunning and the flavour is fabulous too, so they are definitely on the list again for next year.
I used a combination of 'Romanesco' and 'Soleil' courgettes to make these galettes which I thought would be a lovely, less batter-y, alternative to courgette fritters. And, as I would rather be out in the garden enjoying the sunshine, they are baked in the oven, so no slaving over a hot frying pan.
